STEPHEN  &  EVELYN  STILWELL,  MISSIONARIES  TO  PERU
November

We thank you for your prayers for us.  Stephen received four stents after having a recent heart attack and is recuperating well.  One of the deacons in Victory Baptist Church helped him buy lumber for camp for more bunkbeds that need to be made.  Evelyn is walking slowly with two feet again.

Recently we had three loved ones pass on to glory.  First my brother-in law went home peacefully.  Stephen‘s sister passed on to glory a week later after spending a week in the hospital.  We were thankful that our son, Jonathan, was home on furlough and could represent us in both funerals.  Then, a week later, his 92-year-old brother passed on to glory.  We are blessed that they will all be in heaven when we arrive.

Maranatha Baptist Church had a wonderful 12th anniversary.  Friday night there was lots of special music from Victory Baptist Church (the mother church).  Maranatha had several specials by the ladies, and the youth. Our grandson, Benjamin, preached the message after all the great music.  Saturday night and Sunday night our son, David, preached on “transformed by regeneration”.  He encouraged our church to stay strong for the Lord and not let discouragement change them.  Sunday morning another church came with their choir and enjoyed the noon meal with us.  Lots of pictures were taken.  Sunday night another church came and sang their specials and enjoyed the cake.   It was hard to believe the church is 12 years old already.  Lunch was served after each service.  Anniversaries are very important here in Peru.  Stephen missed all the meetings as he was in the hospital or home recuperating.

October 20-28 was the 54th anniversary of our Bible college and seminary.  We enjoyed our company, the banquet, the night of music, visiting with alumni, etc.  We learned more about the history of our school song written by three different students years ago.  It was an excellent week as well.

November 7th, we enjoyed the student banquet of the Bible College.  The students have such a great time together.  Our son, David, who is the Bible College president, had a wonderful program planned for them.

November 8, Stephen went to camp, which he enjoyed after not being able to go for several weeks.  Several fellows went with him.  They were able to get more bunk beds finished for the camp season.

November 12-16, Victory Baptist Church celebrated its 25th anniversary.  The 13th was an evening of praise to our God for His work down through the years.  Several students from the church have gone to the Bible College and are now serving the Lord.  Our special speaker was our grandson, Benjamin’s father-in-law from Brazil.  His wife helped with the piano playing.  Sunday was another day of praise to our God for His faithfulness to the church.  All three pastors that the church has had were present.  All praise to our Saviour!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
