STEPHEN & EVELYN STILWELL, MISSIONARIES TO PERU
May and June
Bible College is in full swing, and everyone is back. Some had difficulties in getting back because of the hard rains and rivers overflowing. Thank you for praying. The Lord gave 19 new students this year and we hear of some that are preparing to come next year. Praise the Lord with us! Thank you for praying for the new students as they adjust to rules and new food. We have students from Ecuador, Paraguay and different parts of Peru. Stephen is teaching his class on “’Starting Churches” every Wednesday and Friday.
Maranatha Baptist Church has a student this year. We are happy that he is interested in missions. We also have one lady assigned to our Maranatha church. She is from the north, a fourth-year student and a big help to the youth, senoritas, and children. We have a new family that has moved into our area. They are faithful in church. We praise the Lord for them.
Stephen has several speaking engagements this month. June 6-8, he had a Family conference in a new church pastored by a young couple that graduated last year from the seminary. There were new families that had lots of questions.
June 27-29 he will be speaking at a church in Chimbote, about two hours south of Trujillo. There are two sessions on Friday night for couples (Last year they had about 50 couples.), one on Saturday night and preaching on Sunday.
July 4-6, we will be traveling to Lima to speak at the anniversary of the church that we started in 1983. We are looking forward to being with them. Martha has been invited to go with us, which will be a blessing for us, as well.
We spent a couple weeks fighting the flu and are happy to be up and serving again. During that time Stephen was not able to go to camp, so he is a little behind with his projects out there. He is working on the bathroom doors in the large chapel and the bunkbeds for the new dorms.
