STEPHEN  &  EVELYN  STILWELL,  MISSIONARIES  TO  PERU
The first four months of this year are already history.  We are so thankful for your prayers.  The campers of the first week did not have the swimming pool for lack of water.  Then the rains began in the mountains, and we had plenty of water the rest of the camp season.  We had no pump trouble until the last last week of camp and had to buy a new pump.  The old one was 20 years old!  We had 300 campers that week with no swimming pool, but they kept busy with other activities.  Thank you for all your prayers.

During this year’s camp schedule Stephen took out time to “rest” for two cataract surgeries.  All is going well.  He is teaching his course on “Starting Churches” at the seminary.  It was exciting to hear two ex-alumni say they were helped by this course in starting new churches this past year.

March 24 - 29 we had our first camp retreat for the Golden Years.  Stephen was the song leader for the week. The oldest camper was 87 and prepared his special music.  There were several of us in our 80’s and several in their 70’s.  We had a great time together.  Every night we had special music from the group.  They are not bashful in singing their specials.  Our teacher for the week was a GRADUATE of the Bible College years ago.  He did an excellent job, encouraging us that we are still useful in our churches.  He used different Bible characters to challenge us.  Abraham was 75 when God called him.  Moses was 80 when God called him to lead the Israelites.  Job, with all his pain, never cursed God and kept his perfect testimony.  He had 13 classes and finished with Salomon, who started with perfect desires but ended his life letting sin control him. The campers enjoyed the week and finished saying who they would bring next year for our Goldens Years Retreat.

There are several projects that Stephen will be working on little by little this year.  Come help us if you can.  The windmill needs fixing again for pumping water.  Our camp projects for the next two years are to get the large soccer field level, plant grass, finish the pond and build more bunkbeds.  Thank you for your prayers for the camp season and our plans for the next year’s projects.

Thank you so much for each of your prayers for the ministries here in Peru.  Next month we will send you the good news from our Bible college.  God is answering our prayers!
